Directive 2005/56/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2005 on cross-border mergers of limited liability companies.

The Directive 2005/56 aims to facilitate cross-border mergers operations. It shall determine the law aplicable to each merger’s companie, and establishes, among others, a procedure of a cross-border merger which shall only be possible between companies which may merge under the national law of the relevant Member States.
